Drain wrap , 6” flashing tape depending on location posters. Zip Tape: All splice joints (where one piece of tape overlaps the other to begin a new roll) must be at least 6” and not closer than 12” from corners .

1st Trip

Window Bump-outs: (cantilevers)  This is a 2 piece paper process. Starting at the bottom put about 18" paper up the side and also leave enough paper hanging freely to cover the bottom panel- do NOT attach/cover the bottom wood section. this will be done by the lathe people. Then cover the main wood part where the window is- Make sure to overlap this correctly.

Tunnel (inset) windows: cover the full opening with paper and then cut it down the middle of the opening. Using window flex cover the bottom panel starting at the front edge and working your way back to thewindow itself- the front edge of window flex must be over the front lip 2-3". also come up the sides with flex 8" as well/- Then pull the paper in over the inner walls and also inside the window opening as normal.

Eye on the windows.

Arches: the bottom of arches need to be covered with window flex. Use the 6” or 9” depending on the width of the arch. Spray the arch itself with adhesive and apply the flex with at least a 3” overlap if more than 1 layer is needed. Also the flex must come up the side of  the arch at least 3” as well. The wood on the arch is covered with just paper.

Skip slit the flex. Also run some staples only ( no button caps) in the flex insure it stays attached.

All flat horizontal wood needs to be covered with paper (bottom of porch boxes.)

1 story houses get 1 poster, 2 stories get 2. Put them where you think the people will see them.

Do not nail the paper any lower than 24" along the concrete and wood joint so that the framer can lift the paper and put the strap under our paper, not over it.

Membrane- check carefully for your instructions on membrane- some we do some we don't. If you're not sure ask before you leave the jobsite

On all homes that have columns on the front where they are concrete on the bottom half and wood on the upper half we need to tape the paper to the concrete all the way around the column where it meets the concrete. Use 6” flashing tape

2nd trips

Repair all rips and tears in the papers.

Cover any wood not done on 1st trip

Penetrations: ALL penetrations in the wood need to use the "flip " method to insure proper shingling. Remove the paper about 1" from the sides and bottom. The top make 2 diagonal cuts and lift the paper out of the way- attached the membrane as needed then lower the flap- tape the 2 cuts with the same material as used on the penetration . YOU CAN NOT USE SEAM TAPE HERE.

Square Pens: use 6” straight flash around the unit. Bottom first then sides the top last.

Round Pens: (wires, elec sweeps pipes). Use 8” pc of window flex and cut out a V in the middle of the center. Do the bottom first then place the top. Apply some caulk around the actual penetration. Electrical sweeps can be done either with straight flash or window flex on a case by case basis but caulk is required regardless.  Kickouts (Metal water diverters on rooflines). Take a piece of window and split on one side in the middle. Cover the Kickout with window flex

KB Tampa- again be careful with the membrane application- some we do some we dont

ALL SOUTHGATE TAMPA LOTS GET FULL MEMBRANE- EVEN IF IT IS NOT ON YOUR WORK EMAIL PLEASE DO IT AND LET SOMEONE KNOW
